Atlantic Regional Championships 30 March

For those who wish to come down for the event I have been able to secure accommodations at a reduced rate at the Best Western Aurora Inn. The cost is $79 + tax per room, each room can accommodate up to four with doubling up thereby reducing the overall cost per person. Just advise the Inn when booking that you are attending the Atlantic Regional Archery Championship. The phone number is 765-3306.

For your information the cost to stay on Base is $35 per person and the rooms fit three to four. A higher cost in the long run. This is set to ensure that the military is not competing unfairly with local businesses.

Any word on start times and location?

The shoot will take place at the Fitness and Sports Centre on the Wing. Enter the Base, take the 1st, 2nd or 3rd left turn and go into the Fitness Centre Parking lot. The main doors will be open, clean your shoes off on the equipment available or be real nice and bring in a second pair of shoes to wear on the gym floor.

Registration is from 0800 until 0900, shoot starts soon after. Depending on the numbers we'll have one or two lines. Once the individual shoot is over we'll have the Provincial team shoot.

Lunch will be available, grilled cheese, hotdogs, soup drinks and stuff. Note to all: no food or drink other than water is allowed in the gym floor area. This rule is in place to aid in keeping the place clean.

The team competition will take place after the individual shoot. The provincial teams will consist of one senior, one junior, one male recurve, one female (a minimum) of any classification. The scoring is according to the class you shoot in and is over five rounds.

The main thrust is FUN amd anyone caught not having fun will have to do laps on the indoor track and flogging will not cease until everyone is having fun and laughing.

Timings:

Registration at 0800 to 0900, practice from 0840 to 0855, shooting starts at 0900, second line will start at 1300. The rounds will be shot with a 15 minute break between the 10 scoring ends.
