Canada Games Equipment Empty Canada Games Equipment

Post by spitfire Fri Nov 25, 2011 6:42 pm

Canada games equipment that has been allocated to a club for use is ment to promote the sport of archery in the province of Nova Scotia, right?

Should it end up as individual club members property and not be avaible for the sport of archery in the province of Nova Scotia or cashed in for credit?

A couple of questions maybe somebody could address on the AANS Executive at your next executive meeting?

I didn't make it to the end but my understanding was that the equipment was distributed to clubs based on how many members volunteered.

I really hope no one sold any of it. Originally we considered keeping it all together but then we were going to have to store it and the clubs do the work of teaching archers and holding shoots so it seemed appropriate that the clubs would get the gear. Most of it was consumables like butts so it wouldn't last all that long any way.

Is there some particular equipment you are looking for?

We are not looking for anything, but when a club recieves the amount of equipment as the example mentioned. It is a waste when targets and bows are not distributed to groups that will use this for their attended purpose, Promoting Archery in N.S.

Again this is a topic which should be brought up in the new AANS Execuctive.

Ok, let's see if we can make that happen. Send me an email at tall@ns.sympatico.ca. Let me know what you want to do and we'll see if we can work it out.

Mike - Jeff Ryan was as fair as he could be in the distribution of Canada games Equipment. THERE WERE NO BOWS. in Archery equipment, there was 3x3 bulldog butts and stands, nets, vertical 3 spot target faces. A letter was sent to all the clubs asking what they would like to have. Not every club responded or responded in time. If they weren't there when the clear out was done before the school was turned back, clubs that were there got extra. The other eqquipment was divided to the clubs with the most use. The coaches recieved some stuff to use on the road. There was nothing given to individuals and again, definitely no bows.

As mentioned by huntwisely, the Bulldog targets, stands, nets, target faces was given to the clubs who had sent in a request to receive such. Also, as mentioned, the coaches received two targets and a net to use in their coaching courses, clinics and demonstrations throughout the province.
Nothing was given to individuals in clubs for their own use and clubs did not receive more if they had a greater number of volunteers at the Canada Games.
It would indeed be a waste if this equipment was not made use of in its intended purpose of promoting archery in Nova Scotia.
