Canadian Archery Team to 4th stage of FITA’s 2008 World Cup in Boé, FRA
Canada is sending a strong team to the World Cup this week. Included on the team are current FITA world compound champion (able-bodied) Dietmar Trillus (King City, ON) and current IPC world champion (archers with a handicap) Kevin Evans (Jaffray, BC). Trillus is ranked second in World Cup points. Rounding out the compound team are Dawn Groszko and Kevin Brayford (Calgary, AB), and Kevin Tataryn (Stonewall, MB).
Canada’s Olympic Men’s Team is competing there as well as part of FCA’s Olympic/Paralympic preparation plan. Representing Canada are Jay Lyon (Winnipeg, MB), Crispin Duenas (Scarborough, ON), John-David Burnes (Toronto, ON) and Hugh MacDonald (Vancouver, BC).
Canada’s recurve women are attempting to earn one of the last 5 positions available for the Olympic Games at this event. This task falls to Kateri Vrakking (Toronto, ON), Marie-Pier Beaudet (Lévis, QC), Rachael Savage (Caledon, ON), and Alana MacDougall (Scarborough, ON). FCA wishes them good luck.
The support staff includes Joan McDonald, 2008 Olympic Archery Coach (Richmond Hill, ON) along with Bruce Savage (Caledon, ON) and Gary Gillies (Richmond Hill, ON).
