    a compound has a device on it that once you pull the bowstring back, it only requires a small amount of force to keep the sting pulled back while with a re-curve, one must keep a rather large amount of force on the string to keep it it shooting position. So if you are a beginner, you would be much more accurate with a compound. On a side note, when you go hunting, get a crossbow pistol to hang on your belt just in case that you do not mortally wound your game with the first shot and he charges you. It could save your life.
